What types of vehicles can I rent from JCS Hire?
JCS Hire offers a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks and limousines. Whether you’re moving house or need a vehicle for a special occasion, we have a vehicle to suit your needs and budget.
How do I book a vehicle?

What is required to rent a vehicle?
To rent a vehicle, you will need:
- A valid UK driver’s licence
- Additional Proof of Address (eg. Utility Bill)
- A credit or debit card for your security deposit (taken over the phone).
How much mileage is allowed?
You’re free to drive the vans as far as you need, within the UK. We provide 100 miles per day, included in your rental fee. Additional mileage is priced at 10 pence per mile.
Are there age restrictions for renting vehicles?
Yes, renters typically need to be at least 25 years old, and certain vehicles may have a higher age requirement. We’ll discuss this with you before confirming your booking.
Is insurance included in the rental price?
Basic insurance coverage is included with every rental. We do not offer additional coverage options, such as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or personal accident insurance.
What is the cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy varies depending on the booking terms. We can discuss this with your prior to taking any deposit.
Can I pick up or drop off a vehicle at a different location?
No, we don’t provide one-way rentals. Vehicles are collected and returned from our yard in Jarrow, just outside Gateshead.
What should I do if I have an issue with the vehicle during the rental?
If you experience any issues with the vehicle, contact our support team immediately. We will provide assistance or arrange a replacement vehicle if necessary.
Are there any prohibited uses for rental vehicles?
Yes, our vehicles cannot be used for illegal activities, off-road driving (unless specified), racing, or towing. Refer to our rental agreement for a full list of restrictions.
Can I extend my rental period?
If you need to extend your rental, please contact us as soon as possible. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and additional charges.
